What is the best advice you’ve received?

"IMG_MIA_Seth_Haldeman"The best advice I’ve been given is to treat others with fairness and respect, and to be empathetic. These qualities are especially important when serving in a managerial role. In fact, this is the same advice I personally would pass on to anyone.

What keeps you motivated in a fast-paced industry like aviation?

No two days are the same in this industry. Here in Miami, it could be a beautiful day where things are running completely smoothly, then all of a sudden there are severe thunderstorms and the operation is running completely off-schedule. It can be challenging and stressful, but it does make for an interesting day!

What’s the most rewarding part of your current position?

What keeps me coming to work everyday is the people I work with. We have an incredibly diverse workgroup here in Miami, and I take inspiration in them. Many different cultures and perspectives culminate in this city, and I’m learning something new everyday!

What might people not know about you?

Some people that know me may be surprised to hear this, but starting at age 12 and continuing through my early twenties, I was an ice hockey referee. In fact, I was in a development program that was to take me to the professional levels. After becoming a manager, I realized that my time as an on-ice official was an excellent primer. And yes, I had to break up fights.
