What started 40 years ago with just two carriers \u2013 Metro and Chaparral \u2013 is now part of something much bigger.<\/p>\n<p>A lot has changed over the years. In the late 90s American Eagle carriers, including Chaparral, Metro, Simmons, Flagship and others merged, and in 1998, American Eagle Airlines was born. In 2014, American Eagle Airlines became Envoy. We currently operate approximately one third of all American Eagle branded flights to destinations all across North America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"40 Years of American Eagle \ud83e\udd85\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/l-5yYGwmxuc?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Last year, Envoy said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/2023\/06\/02\/end-of-an-era-farewell-to-the-embraer-145-at-envoy-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a fond farewell<\/a> to our Embraer 145 fleet and for the first time in our Company history, became an operator with a single fleet type of Embraer 175\/170 aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>This year is a milestone for Envoy \u2013 in March we surpassed 20,000 employees; in April we celebrated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/2024\/04\/15\/ten-years-of-envoy-air\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10 years of Envoy<\/a>; and in the first quarter we announced continued growth that will bring our fleet commitment to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/2024\/03\/05\/adding-12-new-large-regional-jets-to-our-fleet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at least 181 aircraft<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Our history is rich, our future is bright and we\u2019re grateful for everyone who ensures that we continue to be one of the safest and best regional carriers in the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On November 1, 1984, the very first American Eagle flight, operated by MetroFlight Airlines on a Convair 580 aircraft, successfully departed Fayetteville, Arkansas for Dallas-Fort Worth.
