{"id":20903,"date":"2024-04-11T09:10:42","date_gmt":"2024-04-11T14:10:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/?p=20903"},"modified":"2024-04-11T09:10:42","modified_gmt":"2024-04-11T14:10:42","slug":"video-women-in-aviation-2024-conference-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/2024\/04\/11\/video-women-in-aviation-2024-conference-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Video: Women in Aviation 2024 Conference Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In March, members from all parts of the aviation community gathered in Orlando, Florida for the 35<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0annual\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wai.org\/\">Women in Aviation International<\/a>\u00a0(WAI) Conference.<\/p>\n<p>As proud Presenting Conference Sponsors of WAI, representatives from Envoy attended this year\u2019s event and met with many of the attendees who are looking to start their careers in the world of aviation.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/42D8JgfgYnU?si=GxLIe6IS3vpJDsU9\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Events such as these aren\u2019t just about recruitment, they\u2019re about community. Conference goers who stopped by the Envoy booth also met with members from two of our internal organizations \u2013 the Culture, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee (CDIAC) and the Women of Envoy (WE). Both groups shared information about the inclusion initiatives and mentorship programs available for the benefit of all Envoy employees.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_2024_Women-in-Aviation-WAI-Conference-05.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20701\" src=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_2024_Women-in-Aviation-WAI-Conference-05.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe support and growth opportunities provided by WAI for women in aviation is something Envoy is proud to align ourselves with,\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Chanen Lively<\/strong>, Envoy Vice President of Human Resources &amp; Employment Counsel. \u201cThis conference is an incredible opportunity for women to meet their industry peers, network and learn together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among the record-number 5,200 attendees were 130 scholarship recipients, including flight students\u00a0<strong>Jessica Matrejek<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Kerrie Bourne<\/strong>, and A&amp;P Mechanic student\u00a0<strong>Victoria F\u00e1bregas<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013recipients of three Envoy scholarships.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_2024_Women-in-Aviation-WAI-Conference-18.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20714\" src=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_2024_Women-in-Aviation-WAI-Conference-18.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis scholarship money will go directly towards my flight training. I\u2019m currently working on my commercial certificate, so these funds will help me stay on pace,\u201d said Kerrie. \u201cOnce I graduate and complete my training, my goal is to become an Envoy Cadet while I build my hours and then eventually become a First Officer at Envoy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Our scholarship winners weren\u2019t the only ones celebrating \u2013 American Airlines also issued Conditional Job Offers (CJOs) at the conference this year, and one of those went to Envoy\u2019s own First Officer\u00a0<strong>Fabiola Sanchez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_2024_Women-in-Aviation-WAI-Conference-22.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20718\" src=\"https:\/\/www.envoyair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_2024_Women-in-Aviation-WAI-Conference-22.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With all the excitement and inspiration that was felt at this year\u2019s conference, we\u2019re already looking forward to what next year has in store.
